Portrait of Cities - Tokyo Project , Transition
Shanglin Wu
2009/ Two channels color video with sound/5 mins 45 secs

“Tokyo Project” is a video piece created during Japan’s Arcus Project’s artist-in-residence program that I participated. The project is a continuation of my observations of urban perception of personal attitudes and intuitive ways.

城市 City
I-Chun Chen
2009 / Single channel color video with sound / 03mins 08secs

The initial idea of the piece derives from the intention to express the conceptual difference between the city’s core and margin. By passing in between these two parts of the city in one day, one could sometimes feel a sense of bewilderment, and questions where does one belong?

II The World is too much with us II
NINA and Valentin
2009 / Video / 4mins loop

This post-Romantic video focuses on the conspicuous clash and the likely match between the world of man and the world of nature.

Impressions
Robert Seidel / Max Hattler / Daniel Burkhardt
2010 / Video Projection / 2 mins 30 secs

“Impressions” are three on site video works which were created during the artists’ stay in Taipei. In these videos, the rhythm of travelling connects with the impressions on site and freezes into a raw snap-shot as well as a documentation on the artists’ personal reflection.
